The Phantom of the Opera

The mystical tale of the musical masked menace is well known among millions of people. The Phantom of the Opera has enchanted many people over the last twenty years and still does to this day. The moving Broadway play has touched many hearts. The love triangle between the young, beautiful opera singer Christine Daae, her childhood sweetheart Vicomte Raoul de Chagny, and the irresistible Phantom of the Opera.
The Phantom was Christine's music mentor. She believes he's the angel of music promised to be sent by her father after he died. He was in fact her music teacher but that soon turned to love. Christine could not resist his voice. She went into a trance every time she heard him. He was disrupted by the Vicomte who was Christine's childhood sweetheart. They reunited and fell in love. The young love that sprouted between Christine and Raoul ,turned the Phantom into a jealous enraged mad man. He wanted nothing but Christine and did not stop until she was his. As the plot thickens the love triangle becomes more complicated. The Phantom went on a killing spree which frightened the young Christine. The Phantom was able to cease her and wanted her to belong to him. The Phantom tricked Christine by giving her two options. He told her if she chooses Raoul he will murder him and if she chooses the Phantom he will set Raoul free. She chose the Phantom to save Raoul from death. The Phantom loved her so much that he let her go.

This tragic tale is one that will always break your heart no matter how many times you have seen it. This is my favorite Broadway play and I hope this show enchants people for another twenty years.
